Hotel relaunches following £1.1m investment
Cedar Court Hotel Huddersfield is relaunching to guests following a £1.1m refurbishment of the 113-bedroom property at Ainley Top.
Refurbishment included bedrooms, dining, business, and lounge areas and took place over 12 months.
The hotel is part of Yorkshire’s largest independent hotel group, Cedar Court Hotels, which turns over £18m annually and attracts 500,000 visitors to its four hotels across the county.
Its overhaul is part of the Cedar Court Hotel group’s wider strategy to invest into the region by creating a multi-purpose hub for the community and attract visitors to the city.
New facilities include “The Dugout”, an underground sports-themed venue with a dedicated private bar, designed to be a versatile event space for local sports teams, corporate groups and members of the community.
Improvements inside the hotel – which involved it working with local designer Emma Jones from Rhubarb and Ginger Interiors – include updated and redesigned bedrooms, meeting rooms, lounge and lobby areas, restaurant and bar, alongside a refresh of The Yorkshire Suite.

People are invited to attend a relaunch event at the hotel from 6pm to 7.45pm on 1 February 2024.
Speakers will include a surprise guest and sports personality from Rugby League team Huddersfield Giants, Sam Hartley, owner of SAM Networking, Liz Wood, head of membership at North and West Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce, and Colin Allen, commercial director at The Piece Hall Trust.
