International export breakthrough at medtech company

Morley-based medical technology company, Brandon Medical, is about to enter one of the world’s largest and most dynamic healthcare markets.

Following successful regulatory approval in September 2023, it is poised to export its Quasar eLite surgical lights to China.

The first order, comprising 22 crates containing surgical lights for 22 operating theatres, is ready to set sail for two major hospitals in the cities of Yantai and Xi’an.

Brandon Medical explains this represents a significant step forward in its global expansion strategy.

CEO, Professor Keith Jackson, said: “As we embark on this momentous journey, we are immensely proud to bring our state-of-the-art Quasar eLite surgical lights to the Chinese market.

“This achievement is a testament to our unwavering commitment to quality, innovation, and collaboration.

“We look forward to making a meaningful impact on patient care in China and forging lasting partnerships with healthcare providers across the region.”

The road towards this export deal began with Brandon Medical encountering Universal Medical, a state-owned healthcare group listed on the Hong Kong Exchange Market, at the 2019 MEDICA exhibition.

Since then, both companies have collaborated, with Universal Medical played a pivotal role in facilitating the registration and distribution of Brandon Medical’s surgical lights.
