Modular homes manufacturer files administration notice

Lighthouse's factory in Sheffield

A Sheffield-based maker of modular housing has filed a notice of intention to appoint administrators.

Bosses at Lighthouse have reportedly told employees to continue working from home today – 18 March – while they try to secure the company’s future.

Lighthouse, which is based at Tinsley Industrial Estate, in Shepcote Lane, was set up in 2020 as IDMH Limited and manufactures timber framed houses, apartments and bungalows on its production lines.

The firm moved to its current base in 2021 and was invited to join the Sci-Tech Daresbury Innovation Centre, in Warrington. It rebranded as Lighthouse in 2023.

According to its financial statements for the year ended 30 November 2022, the business employed an average of 81 workers in 2022, owed creditors £2.3m and had net assets worth £8.2m.
