Architect firm shifts to Employee Ownership Trust
Associated Architects has transferred ownership of its business to an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT).
Current directors Warren Jukes, James Hall, Richard Perry, and Steve Townsend will continue to lead the business, and no changes are expected in day-to-day operations.
Founded in Birmingham in 1968 and with additional offices in Leeds and Oxford, Associated Architects anticipates continued growth, projecting a turnover exceeding £6m for the year ending March 2025 and an increase in staff numbers to over 65.
Warren Jukes, managing director of Associated Architects, said: “Our people are our biggest asset, and this move enables us to ensure the company will be run in the long-term interest of our employees and will preserve the culture and values that have been the bedrock of five decades of success”.
The firm’s commercial performance is supported by a portfolio of projects across education, commercial, and residential sectors, as well as community and infrastructure projects like the University Station at the University of Birmingham and the redevelopment of the Alexander Stadium in Birmingham.
Associated Architects have been involved in projects such as the 10 Brindley Place commercial retrofit in Birmingham and the award-winning School of Architecture & the Built Environment at the University of Wolverhampton.
Additionally, promotions within the company include Alex Paul to director and Jonathan Dawson-Bowman to associate director in the Birmingham studio, as well as the appointment of Craig Reed as director in Leeds and the promotion of Tom Cotton to associate director in Oxford.
