Multi-service firm eyes £22m turnover following AI investments
Servo Group said its aiming for turnover of £22m this year, following a series of inward investments in supplier-led tech development and and major client wins.
The firm announced it had renewed a five-year contract with energy provider Orsted in November, and a CCTV, maintenance and monitoring contract with Conrad Energy in October to install an AI-based analy7tical system across its UK sites.
The Leeds-headquartered multi-service provider said it had made a number of new hires and invested more than £500,000 into supplier-led tech development in the last two years.
It launched also launched AI-based temporary solutions aimed at making it easier to monitor health and safety on sites and rapidly deploy CCTV systems.
Its new CCTV towers can pick up health and safety non-conformances on sites, such as a lack of PPE, hard hats or unauthorised people in a working zone.
The CCTV towers use AI and deep learning to refine algorithms so they can detect safety breaches, including a lack of PPE or workers who are close to hazardous areas from up to 70m away. In addition, Servo has also invested in the development of an AI-based, rapid deployment CCTV kit, which can be used as a stand-alone solution where covert camera systems are required.
Incorrect or absent PPE or equipment have been identified as factors in a 55% rise in fatal accidents in the construction industry last year, according to the Health and Safety Executive.

The investment that we’ve made to harness AI in surveillance across sectors has had a positive impact on our growth.
Along with CCTV towers, Servo will be introducing the AI and health and safety detection capabilities into its Servo Eye perimeter detection devices and fixed CCTV systems.
The investment in technology is part of the security company’s wider growth plan – in December it launched an office in Glasgow to target a wider range of opportunities in the region. It has also boosted its operational capacity in response to new contract wins with the hire of two new contracts managers, additional CCTV engineers and the promotion of Wayne Varley to operations director and Wayne Robinson to CCTV operations manager.
