Insurance firm relocates for first time in more than 50 years
Hinks Insurance has bid farewell to its Hull city centre office after 53 years and embarked on a new chapter by relocating its headquarters to Waterside Business Park in Hessle.
A family-run business which first started in 1930, Hinks has been based in Wright Street since 1970 when John Hinks senior – son of founder George Hinks – joined the company after serving his apprenticeship with a national insurance company.
The move to the modern Waterside Business Park, on Livingstone Road, accommodates the company’s ongoing growth.
John Hinks senior conducted an official opening ceremony. The event was attended by current chairman Jonathan Hinks and newly-appointed managing director Julie Thurlow.
Jonathan Hinks said: “Moving marks a significant step forward for Hinks Insurance. It’s a reflection of our growth, success and dedication to continually improving our services.
“Our new headquarters will provide the perfect foundation for us to continue serving our clients with excellence for many years to come.”
The move follows an exciting management restructure which has seen Thurlow promoted to managing director after 25 years of service. Jonathan Hinks has transitioned into the role of chairman.
“Julie has been an integral part of our team for over two decades, and her leadership and commitment have been truly inspiring,” said Jonathan.
“I am confident that under her guidance, Hinks Insurance will continue to flourish and achieve even greater heights.
“As I step into the role of chairman, I look forward to supporting Julie and the entire team as we embark on this exciting new journey.”
Thurlow said: “I am incredibly honoured to take on the role of managing director at such a pivotal time for the company.
“Our move to Waterside Business Park opens up new opportunities for us, and I am eager to lead our talented team as we continue to grow and innovate.”
