Five retail units acquired to enable charity’s expansion
Chartered surveyors and property management company, Carter Towler, has confirmed the acquisition of five new retail units for Yorkshire Cancer Research.
The new stores, located in Ilkley, Hull, Castleford, Heckmondwike and Selby, are set to bolster the charity’s presence and support its ambitious expansion plans.
Pete Bradbury, head of retail at Carter Towler, said: “We are pleased to have secured five more outlets for the charity, which currently operates 15 shops across the region.
“These new locations will play a crucial role in our commitment to helping Yorkshire Cancer Research achieve its goal of expanding to 80 locations over the next decade.
“We are currently seeking to identify further shop units in busy high street and city centre locations, as well as large-format superstores in out-of-town retail park locations.
“These stores will become key hubs for fundraising, engagement and education. We are very much enjoying the partnership we have formed with Yorkshire Cancer Research and assisting, albeit in a small way, with the incredibly valuable work the charity does.”
Michael Dickinson, from Yorkshire Cancer Research, added: “Yorkshire Cancer Research is dedicated to saving lives by funding vital research and pioneering services which prevent, diagnose and treat cancer more effectively in Yorkshire.
“The charity’s ambitions are shaped by the needs of people in Yorkshire, and as part of this mission, the charity is expanding its retail network to further increase its impact across our region.
“The newly acquired retail units will not only enhance fundraising efforts but provide essential support for the life-saving projects that Yorkshire Cancer Research funds.”
Carter Towler recently relocated its headquarters to larger offices at Aspley House, Wellington Street, Leeds to accommodate its own growth plans. The business now has 58 employees with offices in Leeds and York.
