People: Hethertons Solicitors; Burendo; Baker & Baker; and more

York-based Hethertons Solicitors has recently made two senior appointments to support the growth of the firm.
Jessica Roberts has been appointed as head of corporate law, and Hayley Crossman-Shaw, promoted to head of family law.
Roberts is returning to the firm from Leeds-based Hill Dickinson and ALT Legal.
Crossman-Shaw has been promoted, having been with the firm for two years.

Technology consultancy Burendo has announced several hires.
At the helm is Neil Dunlop, who joins as managing director.
Adding strength to the people function is Charlotte Goulding, who joins as people director.
The technical leadership team also sees the addition of:
Ivor Caldwell joins as a Principal Consultant, Lee Tucker, Account Owner, Gordon Brown,Technology Leader and Account Owner.

Bradford-based bakery products manufacturer Baker & Baker has appointed Matthew Acheson as its group CEO, succeeding John Lindsay in the role.
Acheson served as CFO of Baker & Baker and the previous CSM Bakery Solutions business since 2017.
Lindsay, who has served as CEO of Baker & Baker and the previous CSM business since 2016, has stepped down and moved into a strategic advisory role until 1st May 2025, when he will formally retire, thereafter he will take up a noneExecutive director position with the company.
Paul Jones has succeeded Acheson as Baker & Baker’s Group CFO.
Acheson said: “I am extremely pleased to be entrusted with leading Baker & Baker, as we look to expand our presence and distribution in markets throughout Europe and further afield. 2024 has been another robust year for the Group, and we are excited about the opportunities to grow our business in collaboration with our key customers and partners.”
Baker & Baker Group employs 2,500 people in total, with 1400 people working in the UK across four sites. 360 people are employed at Baker & Baker’s manufacturing site at Cutler Heights Lane in Bradford.

SYNETIQ, one of the UK’s leading vehicle salvage, dismantling and recycling companies, has appointed Jonathan Pervin as managing director.
He will work closely with RB Global’s chief business development officer, Karl Werner, to lead SYNETIQ’s UK salvage and dismantling business.
Previously serving as finance director at SYNETIQ, Pervin has played a key role in overseeing SYNETIQ’s financial governance and reporting, supporting the company’s growth through strategic investment, acquisitions, and business development.
He said: “I am thrilled to take on this new role as Managing Director and lead SYNETIQ through the next phase of its journey as part of the IAA, and the broader RB Global, family.
