FD to leave Dyson

MATERIALS technology company Dyson has revealed that Nick Parker, its group finance director, is to leave the firm at the end of its current financial year.

The Sheffield-based group said Mr Parker, who has been finance director for the past eight years, had “played a key role in the transformation of Dyson from a traditional refractories business into a high growth performance materials group and has been particularly involved with the strategy for exiting low margin activities”.

Dyson said Mr Parker had taken the decision to leave the company, which revealed last month that it had begun a strategic review of its operations as it transforms from its core business of refractory activities for the steel industry towards performance materials, such as those that increase the efficiency of catalytic converters and filters.

Heidrick & Struggles has been appointed to find a suitable replacement for the position.

Chris Kinsella, a non-executive director of Dyson, will devote more time to the day to day financial management of the business in conjunction with the executive team, Dyson said..

Chairman Dr Christopher Honeyborne said: “I would like to thank Nick for his contribution to the company during its transformation into a robust global materials technology group and wish him well for the future.”

Mr Parker is to leave Dyson on March 31.
