HBOS director steps down
CARPHONE Warehouse chief executive Charles Dunstone is to step down from the board of HBOS.
Mr Dunstone, who founded retail chain Carphone Warehouse in 1989, has spent the last six years as a non-executive director of Halifax and Bank of Scotland parent HBOS and prior to that was on the board of Halifax for two years.
Mr Dunstone, who is also a non-executive director of the Daily Mail and General Trust and chairman of the Prince's Trust Trading Board, said he would retire from the board of HBOS at its AGM on April 29 after completing two three-year terms as a non-executive director.
HBOS chairman Lord Stevenson said: “I would like to thank Charles for the exceptional contribution he has made to the group and for the entrepreneurial drive he has brought to the board's deliberations. We will miss him.”
