Hull engineering firm eyes up European potential

A FIRM of consulting engineers has secured more than 100 potential leads after attending Ecobuild 2010 – the world’s biggest event for sustainable design and construction.
Hull-based Waldeck said that it had received an “unprecedented” level of interest at the exhibition, with enquiries coming from companies as far afield as China, Australia, Lithunia, France and Romania.
Sue Wright, Waldeck’s business development manager, said that it was the first time that the firm had exhibited at the even and that she was really please with the interest shown.
“We attracted enquiries from developers, architects, consultants, local authorities and environmental businesses to our stand, all of which were looking for sustainable design services in the UK,” she added.
Waldeck was one of just a handful of engineering consultants exhibiting at Ecobuild 2010, which was attended by around 1,000 companies which manufacture or supply environmentally responsible building products.
The event attracted more than 41,000 people from all over the world.
Waldeck was founded in 1995 by Paul Waldeck and has offices in Hull, Sleaford, Lincoln, Peterborough and Northampton.
A sixth office is due to open in Nottingham later this year.
The firm works in a wide range of sectors including social and private housing, care homes, education, energy, sport and leisure, pharmaceuticals, food processing and distribution, retail and commercial, MOD, conservation and historic buildings and automotive.
