Festival to host new digital awards

THE first ever Leeds Digital Awards are set to be held in the city as part of this year’s Leeds Digital Festival.

More than 50 events will take place across the city in November including blogger sessions a Tedx event and a talks from sports data business Opta.

The Festival, which is sponsored by Leeds Brewery and Orchard recruitment consultants, will also incorporate the gala dinners for the finals of the Cream Awards and Dadi Awards.

John Prior, director of projects and service delivery at twentysix in Leeds and part of the festival steering group,  said: “The line-up of events and the diverse range of subjects will make this a great month to be in Leeds for anyone who is interested in digital.

“It’s been a truly collaborative event a long time in the making, with everyone involved volunteering their time and company resources for free.

“The fact that it has reached the scale it has, with more than 50 events across an entire month, is a great endorsement of the depth and breadth of the city’s digital sector and something Leeds should be rightly proud of.”
