Makeover for business park

A MULTI-use business park is to be refurbished during a 16-week project that will be project managed by commercial property consultant GVA.

Tokenspire Business Park in Beverley, near Hull, is to be modernised and refurbished.

LaSalle Investment Management approached GVA’s building consultancy team to facilitate the £400,000 work after GVA’s investment team acquired the site last year. A contractor will be appointed in due course.

The 322,000 sq ft site will undergo a substantial refurbishment which will bring vacant industrial and office units up to date with modern requirements.

Comprising 51 units, the business park is let to a variety of traders, including furniture, fashion, removal and light industrial businesses.

GVA’s Leeds-based building consultancy team will act as Project Manager. The make-over will include external joinery and redecoration, wall cladding, masonry repairs and fitting industrial doors.

Some vacant units will be stripped out and re-fitted with new concrete floors, roofs and external wall cladding to provide modern shells for immediate tenant occupation.

Jon Anderson, director at GVA in Leeds, said: “GVA has worked hand-in-hand with LaSalle Investment Management from day one. Holistic consultancy advice is where our strength lies.

“We therefore located the investment opportunity, acquired the site on our clients behalf, and now project manage the programme ensuring we optimise the efficiency of our client’s investment.

“We’re looking forward to completing this exciting refurbishment which will see a key employment site brought up to date attracting further businesses to the area.”

Chris Mitchell, associate director at LaSalle, said: “This project represents a significant investment to ensure that Tokenspire Business Park is a premier, regional base for business and enterprise.”

The site is managed by Jones Lang LaSalle and marketing agent, Dale Gooderham, of Garness Jones.
