Food manufacturer announces innovation think tank

YORKSHIRE-based manufacturer of clean label ingredients Ulrick & Short has announced plans to launch its own innovation think tank to create, develop and bring new products to market.

The firm hopes that the think tank, which will involve outside partners, will allow Ulrick & Short to accelerate new products to market that will complement the company’s existing range of clean label starches, fat replacers, thickeners and bakery glazes.

The new group will also be exploring food sectors where Ulrick & Short do not yet have a presence and identifying and researching ways of breaking into these potential markets.

Ulrick & Short’s director Adrian Short said: “The company’s success has been built on superior innovation and it has already established successful joint technology ventures around the world.

“As the business continues to rapidly grow, it is imperative that Ulrick & Short continues to strengthen its innovation activity, whilst allowing us to maintain a clear focus on research and development for current customer specific projects.”

The forward-thinking company will be unveiling its functional healthy products in the autumn.
