Retailer chooses Yorkshire architects

A YORKSHIRE architects is taking advantage of the boom in the discount food sector with a string of commissions for supermarket chain Aldi.
The Harris Partnership has designed a series of stores across the North including a new 15,000 sq ft outlet at Guiseley on lan near the former Harry Ramsden’s restaurant.
Nick Charlesworth, group director of The Harris Partnership, said: “We’re delighted to have secured further work from Aldi who have been a retained client for many years.
“We’ve played an instrumental role in developing the company’s signature design here in the UK – contemporary design that conveys a very distinctive style, and which is immediately recognizable by consumers.
“We are developing new stores on considerably varied sites, so there is a good deal of effort put into maintaining the strong design identity while complementing the surrounding environment, and meeting key planning criteria.”
The Harris Partnership is a 100-strong practice based in Wakefield.
