‘Project Quattro’ gets green light

VETERINARY medicines company Animalcare Group has been given the green light to launch a major new product.
Project Quattro, a product from York-based Animalcare’s development pipeline, has received marketing authorisation from the Veterinary Medicines Directorate.
Stephen Wildridge, chief executive of Animalcare Group, said: “The continued growth of our licensed veterinary medicines portfolio is an important aspect of our growth strategy.
“As we announced at our recent interim results, the trading in our core business is driven by new product introductions through the year and the news that the development of Project Quattro is advancing as planned is further testament to the delivery of our strategy.”
The granting of marketing authorisation is a prerequisite for placing a new veterinary medicinal product on the market, after routine approvals for product packaging.
The decision gives Animalcare the go-ahead to make final preparations for a full commercial launch of the product, at which full details of it will be given.
Animalcare expects the first sales from the product to be made by the end of its current financial year.
