Revitalised office space hits market

KNIGHT Frank and Jones Lang LaSalle are set to market a newly refurbished city centre office building.

Land Securities owns the City Exchange building on Albion Street in Leeds next to the Trinity Leeds shopping scheme which is set to open next year.

Harlan Pollitt, portfolio manager with Land Securities, said: “This is a statement building, which boasts unrivalled views across the heart of Leeds. It is just two minutes walk from Leeds Station and is immediately adjacent to the prime shopping areas of Leeds. It is also ideally situated for immediate access to the major professional, legal and commercial services in the city centre.”

The seven-storey building offers 120,000 sq ft of office space with 16,000 sq ft currently available and a further 47,000 set to come on stream over the next 18 months.

Elizabeth Ridler, partner with Knight Frank in Leeds, said: “We are delighted to have been awarded this very prestigious instruction by Land Securities, who as tenants in their own building, are investing heavily in refurbishing the common areas of the City Exchange building to bring it up to Grade A standard to capitalise on the ever-reducing levels of high quality stock in the city.”

Tom Brammeld, senior surveyor with Jones Lang LaSalle, added: “This will place the development at the very top of the quality Leeds office market, alongside Toronto Square, No1 Leeds and Broad Gate.  This investment is a ringing endorsement of both the building itself and of the city of Leeds to attract leading occupiers.”
