Developer completes canal scheme

DEVELOPER Rushbond has completed the refurbishment of a canal side building in North Yorkshire.

Canal Side House, in Skipton, is part of the Belle Vue Square development transforming the grade II listed Belle Vue Mills building in Skipton.

Rushbond development director Mike Hartley said: “Canal Side House is an unusual, attractive and characterful building in a first-rate location.

“It is suitable for a range of commercial uses including offices, retail and leisure. The large external decked area is well-suited to a café or restaurant with scope for living accommodation above.”

Canal Side House is made up of two floors each covering 1,000 sq ft with a decked area fronting on to the Leeds-Liverpool canal.

Westlake & Co, DTZ and Hayfield Robinson are jointly marketing the property which was built by John Dewhirst in 1828.
