York Potash moves to Scarborough Business Park

YORK Potash has moved into a new headquarters as it steps up plans to develop a potash mine in North Yorkshire.

The business, part of Sirius Minerals, has taken space at Scarborough Business Park.

William Woods, director at York Potash, said: “We are thrilled with our new offices and are pleased to now have a base in Scarborough that will support the work we’re conducting in the area.”

Sirius Minerals recently confirmed it was putting its other interests around the world to focus its resources on developing the York Potash project.

It is thought the new potash mine in the Scarborough and York area could create more than 1,000 jobs.

Steven Plummer, an associate at York-based Langleys Solicitors, who advised York Potash on the move, said: “York Potash Ltd are conducting exciting operations across Yorkshire and the north east, and I am very pleased to have been able to help the company secure these offices.

“As a firm, we look forward to continuing to support the company with its legal requirements.”
