Major order for Clyde

CLYDE Process Solutions has won a £3.6m order with a European building products manufacturer.
The contract will see the Doncaster-based firm, which specialises in handling strategies for process industries, work with the unnamed building products manufacturer through its subsidiary Clyde Materials Handling.
Clyde said the manufacturer was planning to install a series of pulverised coal injection systems that can manage the movement of coal from storage silos to mini blast furnaces which are located on its production facility.
The coal acts as a fuel in these mini blast furnaces, which are used to produce molten iron.
As part of the order, CMH will create a product that will feed pulverised coal to a series of splitters located in close proximity to each mini blast furnace.
Individual pipes will then transport the pulverised coal directly to the mini blast furnace.
The CMH product will also incorporate blockage detection and clearing systems, ensuring that a reliable and accurate feed of coal is delivered to the mini blast furnace.
Alex Stewart, chief executive of Clyde Process Solutions, said: “We have a growing reference list of customers in the mini blast furnace market
where we have used our pneumatic injection technologies to reliably and accurately deliver critical raw materials into the heart of iron-making processes.
“This order, which is the largest CMH has secured so far in the current trading period, was won against competition from Europe and South East
Asia. The order was secured with healthy levels of contribution and is in line with management expectations.”
