YORK-based law firm Langleys has further strengthened its team with two promotions.
The firm’s family unit sees Huw Lippiatt promoted to an associate. Lippiatt is a children’s specialist and member of the Law Society’s Children Panel. He regularly acts for both parents and children in care proceedings.
Fiona Brook, who joined the firm as an assistant solicitor a year ago after training with and working for Hammonds, has also been promoted to an associate within the corporate unit.
SOLICITOR Gareth Marland is one of three new faces at Harrogate-based law firm Berwins. Marland, who is a Citizens Advice Bureau volunteer adviser, worked as an engineer before becoming a solicitor. He joins Berwins from a rural practice in East Yorkshire and will work with John Barrett, Julie Jewers and Claudette Knowles in the private client unit. Joanne Ford, has been appointed as legal assistant in the firm’s residential property unit. Sarah Beales is the firm’s new marketing assistant and joins from Leeds property search agents York Place. She previously worked with City of York Council.
Hempsons has promoted Harrogate senior solicitor, Crispin Pettifer to partner. Pettifer joined Hempsons in 2005 and is head of construction advising on construction and commercial projects. He regularly advises numerous NHS and Foundation Trusts on the development of hospital premises and Primary Care Trusts and medical practices looking to develop, purchase or lease primary care premises. He qualified at Farrer & Co in London in 1993 and gained an MSc in Construction Law and Arbitration at Kings College London in 1998. He joined Hempsons Freeth Cartwright LLP in Nottingham in.
