Cosmo opens first Yorkshire restaurant

ASIAN buffet chain COSMO is to open its first restaurant in the North at the Merrion Centre in Leeds creating 50 jobs.

It is the second tenant in as many weeks to sign up for the New Front leisure scheme, the redevelopment of part of the Merrion Centre by owner Town Centre Securities.

New Front is a new leisure development looking to capitalise on the opening of the Leeds Arena next year.

Helen Beckett, associate director for Town Centre Securities, said: “To have a second new tenant sign up in as many weeks is great news for the New Front scheme which is now 80% let. We’re thrilled that COSMO has chosen Leeds for its first restaurant in the north.  They are best in class for a fixed price gourmet buffet restaurant and will prove popular with Arena visitors, shoppers and office workers alike.  

“We are creating a vibrant leisure destination location, alongside the Leeds Arena which has the ambition to be one of the top five venues of its kind in the world, which will attract a million visitors and an estimated £25m into the Leeds economy every year.”
