Latest Appointments: Dickinson Dees, Yorkshire Bank, Flint Hyde, hlw Keeble Hawson

DICKINSON Dees has appointed two partners who have joined from rival law firm DLA Piper.
John Connor is joining the Leeds office of the firm’s banking team. He has more than 10 years’ experience in advising banks, specialist lenders and borrowers on asset-based lending, acquisition finance, property finance and debt sale deals.
Andy Stirk will be joining the firm’s corporate recovery team in Leeds. Mr Stirk has significant restructuring and insolvency experience across a range of sectors, advising banking clients and other financial institutions on distressed businesses.

RICHARD Gregory, Yorkshire Bank’s chairman, has accepted a role as a senior independent director at Clydesdale Bank, the Yorkshire’s parent company.
He will also take up the same role on the National Australia Group Europe board.
The board is a body that links the bank’s UK operations to its own parent, National Australia Group.

BRIDLINGTON Harbour Commissioners, the body that has overseen the work in and around the port’s harbour and its business community for almost 200 years, has appointed Margaret Hyland as its chief executive.
Ms Hyland takes over from the former harbour master Chris Wright, who retired earlier this year.
In her new role, Ms Hyland will work closely with the 10-strong Commissioners’s board on all matters relating to income, expenditure and future development of the harbour and its surrounding areas.
She will also continue in her role as collector of dues, a position that dates back to an 1837 Act of Parliament.

LAW firm hlw Keeble Hawson, which has offices in Leeds, Sheffield and Doncaster, has appointed two new associates from within its ranks.
Employment litigator Andrew Lightburn and Neil Kelly, an insolvency specialist, have been promoted.
Senior partner Ron Whitlam said: “Andrew and Neil have made a significant contribution to hlw Keeble Hawson’s success with their diverse skills, both professional and interpersonal. RECRUITMENT company Flint Hyde, which has an office in Leeds, has played a key role in the placement of Kate Bostock as executive director, product and trading for retailer ASOS.
Ms Bostock was most recently executive director, general merchandise and a main board director at Marks and Spencer.
Previously she held senior roles at George at ASDA and Next.
