In brief: £7m housing deal, GGP Consulting, Morgan Agency , Myddleton Croft Investments, Search Laboratory

YORKSHIRE-BASED Unity Housing Association has secured £7m of funding from The Co-operative Bank to build 150 new homes in Leeds.

The association will use the funds to increase its portfolio of homes from 1,100 to 1,250 over the next five years.

The transaction was arranged by senior corporate manager Steven Clarke from Co-operative Bank’s corporate banking centre in Leeds.

HULL-BASED GGP Consulting Engineers has been awarded a five-year framework consultancy contract with Northern Gas Networks, one of the UK’s leading gas distribution networks.
 
The contract, won by GGP ahead of competition from firms from the European Union, includes the design of new gas distribution infrastructure across the North of England, from Hull to Cumbria.

Jim Gabbitas, managing director of GGP, said: “This is a fantastic boost for the company and provides a secure workload for our growing workforce. The award shows that Hull-based companies can provide world class expertise in a very competitive market.”

MORGAN Agency has been appointed to produce an undergraduate prospectus for the University of Derby for the second year running.
 
The Leeds-based agency, which works with clients including Avon, Aunt Bessies, Speedo and BT Engage IT, won industry plaudits for its previous work producing marketing brochures showcasing the university’s faculty of arts, design and technology which saw representatives of the university join the agency to visit Milan for an international awards ceremony.
 
Sam Burgess, managing director, Morgan Agency, said: “We’re thrilled to be working with the University of Derby for the second time. If the first project saw us all heading to Milan, who knows where this year’s publication could take us!”
 
The four part prospectus placed third out of 260 entrants from across Europe in its category at the annual competition, run by international quality paper company Fedrigoni of Italy.

MYDDLETON Croft Investments saw funds under management increase by 26% to £49.8m last year.

The Leeds-based discretionary portfolio manager recruited Julie Jones as a director last year, she was formerly head of UK retail sales for BNY Mellon/Newton.

Chief executive David Cowell, said: “We thank all the independent financial advisers who have introduced their clients to us and we have rewarded them with decent performance and a high quality of service. We will continue to build on our IFA relationships whilst they adjust to the new regulatory changes.”

SEARCH engine marketing company Search Laboratory has been named in the Deloitte Technology Fast 500 EMEA 2012 list, a ranking of the 500 fastest growing technology companies in Europ, the Middle East and Asia. 

Rankings are based on percentage revenue growth over five years and Search Laboratory.
