ABL dinner to raise thousands for charity

HUNDREDS of Yorkshire financiers are to raise funds at a dinner for the Friends Of Alfie Martin Charity that aims to improve transportation and care facilities for critically ill infants.

Around 375 lenders, bankers, corporate financiers and other professionals will attend the second Yorkshire Asset Based Lending Charity Dinner.

The event is taking place at The Queens Hotel in Leeds on March 21 and will be hosted again by BBC Look North presenter Harry Gration.

The event, which last year raised more than £15,000 for the Leeds Children’s Hospital Appeal charity, was launched last year.

Chris Silverwood, partner at Ethos Corporate Finance and organiser of the event, said: “The asset based lending community has been very active in business finance over the last year, and they have again welcomed the chance to get together, network and raise much needed funds for great causes.

“This year’s event was a sell-out within days, and we have a great line-up of entertainment including Kevin Connelly of TV’s Dead Ringers fame, comedian Josh Daniels, and renowned tenor Victor Michael.

“We are appealing to businesses to help with the auction of experiences to swell our total raised well beyond the £15,000 we achieved last year.”

Prizes donated to date include a childrens training visit to the Castleford Tigers and a helicopter trip over Yorkshire.

Businesses wishing to donate prizes to the auction should email cps@ethoscf.com or telephone 0113 3663087.
