JLA cleans up with new contracts

LAUNDRY equipment supplier JLA is celebrating after securing contracts worth more than £10m for its new range of detergents.
The Ripponden-based business launched the JLA Clean range a year ago and has since signed up more than 2,000 customers to contracts averaging four years, selling more than 1.2 million litres of liquid detergent.
The company supplies commercial laundry and dishwashing equipment and clients include a number of sports teams such as Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool Football Clubs, as well as care homes network Mimosa Healthcare, dry cleaning and laundry company MacGill of Kensington and pie-makers Pork Farms.
The company, which employs 450 people, expects to see sales this year top more than £3m.
Chief executive Stephen Baxter said: “The launch of JLA Clean was a major step for us and the result of us listening to our customers to develop the products that they need.
“We developed the range to help customers to get the best out of our machines to help deliver cost and efficiency savings.”
JLA said its growth strategy helped it to increase turnover by 13 per cent to £61m in 2011/12.
