In Brief: BCL Legal; HCM; First Choice Marquee Hire

THE Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) has honoured Yorkshire-based Harris Construction Management (HCM) with an award at this year’s ‘Committed to Construction in West Yorkshire’ ceremony.

The firm took first place in the Committed to Excellence & Quality category and was one of just three companies to be short-listed in the Committed to Collaborative Working category.

The awards aim to showcase the excellence and innovation demonstrated by the construction community in West Yorkshire and were held at the Royal Armouries in Leeds.

HCM is predicting that turnover could grow by £10m over the next 12 months following a string of contract wins across its three divisions HCM projects, HCM interiors and HCM facilities.

Earlier this year HCM relocated to a 7,000 sq ft office suite at South Elmsall. The company was founded at the end of 2007 and currently has a £20m turnover and employs a team of 25.

LEGAL recruitment consultancy BCL Legal, based in Leeds, has launched a new operation in London.

The new office, near Liverpool Street Station, came as the firm said it has seen an increase in demand from London and South East-based clients operating in both the private practice and in-house sectors over the past year.

The initial focus will be around interim/locum and document review roles and the aim for the next 12 to 18 months is to then rapidly grow and develop a full private practice team that will place candidates at all levels and across all disciplines as well as to grow the in-house offering.
