Opportunity knocks through Bayford Foundation

YORKSHIRE company The Bayford Group has launched an initiative which aims to give employment to more than 30 people in the energy sector over the next 12 months.
Working with community groups, business leaders and mentors, The Bayford Foundation will train, develop and invest in recruits of all ages and from diverse backgrounds – whether currently unemployed or in work – via rolling three month training programmes.
Operating out of offices in Gibraltar House, Hunslet, West Yorkshire, the scheme will equip trainees with product, sales and market sector knowledge.
Speakers and mentors from the world of business and sport will encourage recruits to see sales in a new light and broaden their horizons.
The Bayford Foundation will invest up to £5,000 to put each recruit through the training programme and pay them a salary for its 12-week duration.
Those who successfully ‘graduate’ will be awarded a university recognised NVQ Level 4 qualification, which is equivalent to an A Level – and progress to earn a minimum £16,000 annual salary.
Bayford Foundation leader June Forsyth said: “We’re not seeking recruits with a wealth of sales or business experience. Where they hail from and what they have previously achieved – or not achieved – is immaterial. The common factor binding them is their passion and commitment to be the best they can be, with the opportunity to progress within a highly competitive and dynamic market place.
“As a business our roots are steeped in Hunslet where the business started life as a coal merchant in 1919. Complementing our heritage, The Bayford Foundation is our way of giving something back to the local community. Our ethos is to provide quality, recognised skills’ training and create real jobs for local people who might not otherwise have a chance to succeed in business.”
Community and business leaders who are interested to find out how they can become involved in The Bayford Foundation are invited to a presentation at Gibraltar House tomorrow at 5.30pm.
Based at Bowcliffe Hall, Bramham, Bayford Group specialises in fuel cards, property and environmental initiatives.
