Appointments: Surgical Innovations; Clarion; Garbutt & Elliott; Cedar Court

SURGICAL Innovations Group today announced the appointment of consultant paediatric urologist surgeon Henrik Steinbrecher to its Clinical Advisory Board (CAB).
The keyhole surgery equipment maker said that Mr Steinbrecher is a consultant at Southampton Hospital NHS Trust where he previously worked as a consultant in paediatric urology specialising in paediatric surgery and minimally invasive surgery (MIS).
SI is looking to expand its operations in the paediatric market this year with an advanced range of innovative 3mm laparoscopic devices for MIS in children.
Graham Bowland, chief executive of SI, said: “We are delighted to welcome Henrik to the CAB, his expertise in paediatric surgery will help SI focus in this specialist area. The CAB now includes key opinion leaders from different specialties of MIS and ensures that we remain at the forefront of MIS product development.”

LOUISE Dodds has joined Clarion’s dedicated contentious probate team as an associate.
Dodds completed her training contract with Gordons in 2010 and has spent the last three years working in its contentious wills, trusts and probate department as a solicitor.
During her time there, she worked on a number of well-known cases, gaining experience of advising on contentious wills, trusts and probate.
“In recent years, the practice has gone from strength to strength and our increased caseload has resulted in the need to expand. With her experience in this niche area of the law, Louise will be a real asset to our growing team,” said Lynsey Harrison, who leads Clarion’s contentious probate team.

YORKSHIRE accountants Garbutt & Elliott has appointed computer specialist Hilary Dyson to strengthen its IT and client service teams in York and Leeds.
Dyson, who studied law at Leeds University, is a chartered accountant who specialises in advising firms and their clients on computer accounting systems.
She has joined Garbutt & Elliott from Peterborough-based PS Financials. She has also worked for accountancy firms Ernst and Young and KPMG.
Dyson started working with Sage software when she was employed by a Sage dealer to write and run their training courses and support their clients and has spent her career since working with various Sage packages in a variety of business environments.
These have ranged from small single user owner-managed businesses to large organisations with complex accounting requirements. Her involvement ranged from installations and training, to book keeping and management accounts.

EXPERIENCED hotelier Kirsti Wilkinson has been appointed general manager at Huddersfield’s Cedar Court Hotel.
Wilkinson has a wealth of experience in the hotel industry in Yorkshire and Lancashire.
Her previous roles include general manager at The Park Inn By Radisson, Leigh, The Park Inn By Radisson, Rotherham, and Holiday Inn Express, Bradford.
She said: “I’m delighted to have secured this new role and am looking forward to the challenges and opportunities it presents.”
