Readers have the chance to determine the Masters award winners

VOTING begins tomorrow for TheBusinessDesk.com’s Yorkshire Business Masters 2013.

Over the next six days subscribers have the chance to pick the winners from a shortlist of three in all six categories for our annual awards.

Starting tomorrow with the Newcomer category and ending next Tuesday with the coveted Ambassador category, you will determine who triumphs and receives the trophies at the awards lunch on Thursday, June 27 at Aspire in Leeds.

Our judging panel met last week to select the three-strong shortlist in each category.

The judges included last year’s Yorkshire Ambassador winner, entrepreneur Margaret Wood of ICW UK; Dominic Gibbons, managing director of Hull property group Wykeland; Andrew Palmer, regional director of the CBI; Paul Devlin, finance director of last year’s Yorkshire Grit winner Fletchers Bakeries; Amarjit Singh of Power Centre and chairman of the Yorkshire Asian Business Association; and Simon Chappell, chief executive of Backup Technology.

There were strong entries in all six categories – Newcomer, Pride, Innovator, Exporter, Grit and Ambassador. The judges also proposed several potential candidates for the shortlist for Yorkshire Ambassador to recognise an individual who has contributed a significant amount to business in the region.

Sponsors for the 2013 Business Masters Awards include law firm Walker Morris, accountancy firm BDO, Leeds Metropolitan University and The P & A Partnership.

The Masters, taking place at lunchtime at Aspire in Leeds on June 27, also offers fantastic networking opportunities, attracting 200 of the region’s most successful entrepreneurs, business leaders and advisers.
