MBA scholarships offered to small firms

SMALL firms looking to increase their global competitiveness are being offered the academic chance of a lifetime.

ESCP-EAP European School of Management has launched an initiative
targeted at SMEs, which will offer three scholarships a year for its European Executive MBA.

The programme, which is open to companies employing less than 250 staff and with offices in the EU, will give students the opportunity to study in seven different countries further accelerating global exposure for their employers.

Managers who are put forward for the programme must have between five and 20 year’s of professional experience and currently hold a strategic development role.

The programme fee is €39,000 and the scholarship will cover €26,000. Companies are expected to pay the remaining €13,000.

ESCP-EAP welcomes 3,500 top-level executives from around the world each year
on a variety of programmes with a choice of study locations to fit with their
professional and personal lives. It has campuses in Paris, Berlin, London, Madrid and Turin.

Participants on the European Executive MBA study with 120 executives from 25
different nationalities with diverse backgrounds.

The 18-month programme is ranked 22nd worldwide by the Financial Times (2007) and has the triple accreditation from AMBA, the AACSB and EQUIS.

Davide Sola, UK Director of the ESCP-EAP, said that the scholarship offered SMEs a unique opportunity.

“We are the only business school with five campuses in Europe and partner
campuses across other continents, which allows us to create a real “melting pot”
of students, faculty, teaching method and style, and exposure to different
cultures,” he said.

“Executive MBA students enjoy the most stimulating learning environment, sharing ideas with colleagues from other nationalities, sectors, and countries. We help them to develop their knowledge, skills and attitudes as they become part of a global network which will last a lifetime, opening up business opportunities and forging friendships alike.”

Once nominations are received for the scholarship, ESCP-EAP will pre-select
companies based on their company development plan and the three-year individual development plan for the chosen executive.

The executive chosen by the company will be required to complete the full individual application process for the programme in order to go through the selection process

The deadline for nominations is December 1, 2008 for the January 2009 intake,
and more information is available by contacting Magda Newman at mnewman@escp-eap.net .
