Land Securities secures move

LAND Securities has positioned itself at the retail and commercial heart of Leeds with a move to new offices in the city centre.

The strategic relocation from 1 City Walk to the £500,000 plus custom-designed offices, at City Exchange in Albion Street, provides a base for the 18-strong team of professionals who manage Land Securities’ £2bn property portfolio in the North of England and Scotland.

The 8,500 sq ft offices, located on the third floor of City Exchange, include a 2,600 sq ft marketing suite for the Trinity Leeds scheme – a joint venture development with Caddick Developments, which aims to enhance the city’s retail offer and help take Leeds up the UK league table of leading destinations for shopping and leisure.

The offices and marketing suite overlook the 1m sq ft scheme that is set to transform Leeds City centre.

Gerald Jennings, Land Securities’ portfolio director for the North and Scotland, said: “Land Securities has had a regional base in Leeds for the past decade. In that time we’ve not only delivered our White Rose Shopping Centre – the company’s best performing retail asset – but we are now further demonstrating our commitment to the region with Trinity Leeds, which is one of the most important retail developments currently underway in the UK.

“We’ve made our move to be strategically located with offices and a marketing suite at the centre of the site and the heart of the retail and commercial district.”

The team at City Exchange has responsibility for a portfolio of centres stretching from Corby in the Midlands to Aberdeen. The newest recruit is Eva Makowski, who has been appointed development marketing manager for Trinity Leeds, based in the newly-opened marketing suite.

Ms Makowski has in-depth knowledge of Leeds and its growing retail and commercial success, having previously worked on a number of the city’s leading development projects.

She said: “I am delighted to join Land Securities at a location with its finger on the retail pulse of Leeds. We are superbly situated with views down onto the Trinity development site, which clearly show the full extent of our scheme.”
