YORKSHIRE-based lender Reward Capital has marked the next phase of its ambitious expansion plan with the launch of an office in Manchester headed by experienced financier Neil McGivern.
McGivern is well-known in the North West market having previously been divisional director at Davenham Trade Finance.
Having enjoyed rapid success in Yorkshire since its launch in 2011, Reward is confident of similar success across the Pennines.
Dave Jones and Tom Flannery run Leeds-based asset backed short term lender Reward Capital alongside invoice discounting facility provider Reward Commercial Finance.
Backed by South African billionaire businessman Christo Wiese, Reward presently has £18m of funds available to lend.
McGivern, whose career also includes eight years as managing director of Bibby Factors in the North East and North West regions, said: “Reward Capital has built an excellent reputation in a short period of time and has a unique position in the market given its ability to fill the funding gap left by mainstream banks.
“I am excited to be joining such a dynamic and fast-growing business and helping to drive Reward’s proposition further in the North West marketplace. Reward Capital’s funding, which is available within very short timescales, is already helping many businesses in Yorkshire and beyond maximise opportunities that they may otherwise miss out on.
“We plan to grow the team in Manchester and are also looking to introduce a number of innovations, including launching a new product that is very much complimentary to the existing product range.”
Mr Jones added: “Opening an office in Manchester is a natural move for Reward given the North West’s position as a key powerhouse for the UK economy, boasting a fantastic and fast-moving, business base.
“Neil is a stellar signing for Reward and we are thrilled to have secured a financier of his reputation who is very well respected.
“He has spent more than 15 years working in the North West market place and has strong relationships with the business community, as well as in-depth technical knowledge and expertise, all of which will help fulfil Reward’s role of giving businesses financial support.”
