Expansion planned as property agency acquired by founder

PROPERTY agency DHP Croft has been acquired outright by one of its founding partners, Toby Cockcroft.

Launched in 2010 by Cockcroft and the partners of Leeds-based property consultancy Dove Haigh Phillips, DHP Croft, with offices in York and Leeds, has grown its reputation for selling some of Yorkshire’s most exclusive homes and higher end rural properties in villages across the county.

Cockcroft said: “I am very grateful for the years working together with the other DHP partners, whose input was invaluable in establishing DHP Croft.  We will continue to work together on projects for clients and I am looking forward to moving the business into new markets, including commercial property and land agency.”

DHP Croft, which specialises in residential property, currently offers a portfolio of some of the region’s most exclusive residential properties, including Grantley Hall near Harrogate, which is on the market at £5.95m; as well as several other ‘trophy’ properties across Yorkshire; and a number of exclusive family homes in North Yorkshire villages priced at £500,000 and above.

“Our typical home sells for around £1m, but we also work for many clients with exceptional properties from half that price, where the property offers something unique and desirable, particularly in a rural setting.  Our reputation as specialists in this niche across the North has spread nationally, and we regularly take appointments working alongside London agents on multi-million pound historic country estates, from Lancashire and Yorkshire to the Scottish borders,” added Cockcroft.

“The future offers the opportunity of extending our work with commercial property portfolios and with developers and we are also planning to introduce a broader suite of property related services.”

DHP Croft has relocated its Leeds office to new premises at Lisbon Square in the city and its head office will continue to be based at Swinegate in York and will rebrand as Croft Residential over the coming months.
