Anthony’s on hunt for talented staff

CHEF and restaurateur Anthony Flinn is seeking talented professionals to join him at his newest venture, ‘The Piazza by Anthony’ in Leeds Corn Exchange.

The Piazza will take over the entire base of the Corn Exchange and provide visitors with a true food destination.

The venture will create more than 40 new jobs

Mr Flinn is looking for staff of all ages to fill roles such as bakers, patisseries’, college graduate chefs, front of house and office workers.

He said: “The Piazza by Anthony is our most ambitious project to date and we are delighted to have found a venue like Leeds Corn Exchange to base a unique concept. It will complement our existing three restaurants in Leeds with a more inclusive offer for anyone to enjoy. We are opening The Piazza at a time when many gastro pubs are closing and we hope that we can employ talented people who may otherwise be out of work.”

Due to open next month The Piazza will feature a 125 seat brassiere, a Masterclass area for private bookings, a champagne lounge, bar, café and separate retail outlets including a bakery, patisserie, chocolatiere, aroma room and cheese shop.

Built in 1861 to critical acclaim, the Corn Exchange thrived but closed after the demise of corn trading. It was later bought and redeveloped with new access staircases to become a shopping centre in1990.

It has recently undergone a £1.5m repair programme to restore the building to its former glory and is now being marketed as a food destination.
