Family matters for Yorkshire law firm

A YORKSHIRE law firm has created a specialist team to offer people a holistic approach to resolving relationship breakdown issues and family disputes.
Lupton Fawcett has announced the launch of Family Partners, a new team within the firm’s Personal Legal Services division.
The division has been set up to reduce the cost, stress and confrontation associated with family law.
Family Partners will be headed by Anne Braithwaite who will be assisted by Vanessa Stirum.
Ms Braithwaite said: “From our years of experience we know that everybody’s circumstances are different and that these days there are many ways of resolving family problems without necessarily going to court; ways that allow clients to be more involved in the process themselves than they have been traditionally.”
One of the approaches that Family Partners will be offering is collaborative law, which is a relatively new way of dealing with family problems where couples and their lawyers meet together to try and resolve things face-to-face rather than by letter and phone.
Family Partners will also provide its clients with access to a network of experts ranging from accountants, financial advisers and valuers to counsellors, life coaches and child psychologists.
Anne Braithwaite added: “At Family Partners we will literally partner people through the entire process of getting their lives back on track. We will make sure they get the best support and advice so that they are able to make the best decisions for themselves and their families. We know that it is important to acknowledge the distress that relationship breakdown causes. We feel that it is crucial to offer clients choices so that they achieve the best future for themselves and their families and, ideally, an ongoing dialogue to assist them in co-parenting going forward.”
