Media Buzz: Mixd; Finn; Engage Interactive

DIGITAL design agency Mixd has expanded its team following a raft of new business wins over the last quarter.

Six new clients have appointed the Harrogate-based agency to help them improve their online presence, Viking Arms, Rookway Ovens, More Mountain, Birmingham- based interior designers Apt. Design, London based architects Originate as well as projects to redevelop websites for the three NHS Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) that serve the Leeds region.

The agency has appointed Luke Whitehouse and Emily Cressey to help manage the increased workload.

Mike Danford, creative director of Mixd, said: “We’ve had a great start to the year, with some great new business wins and more in the pipeline. Given the number of new projects, we knew it was time to expand the team and both Luke and Emily impressed us at the Work in the Web student workshop that we ran in January. It’s been great to be able to bring them both on board and we’re hopeful that if business continues to be this positive we’ll be expanding again soon.”

YORKSHIRE-based Seabrook Crisps has appointed Finn as its retained PR and social media partner.

Finn will work with the Bradford-based business to help drive national awareness and trial, through a campaign that includes media relations, social media, digital and experiential.

The Seabrook win is the latest in a line of big brand account wins for Finn, including Taylors of Harrogate.

The Seabrook business is worth a significant sum to the Leeds-based agency, which now boasts a 24-strong team and is still growing.

Richard Rawlins, managing director and founder of Finn, said “The Seabrook brand has huge potential and we’re thrilled to be on board. Finn has extensive experience with national FMCG brands so Seabrook is right in our sweet spot but more than that, our more commercial approach to PR is one that fits its brief perfectly.”

ENGAGE Interactive has added a trio of household favourites to its growing client roster, just one month after announcing a record turnover of over £1.2m in the latest financial year.

The Leeds-based agency has won a series of social media accounts for Taylors of Harrogate, Beefeater Grill and tea brand Bubbleology.

Engage will work with celebrity Vernon Kay to deliver Beefeater Grill’s second ‘Boss of Beef’ digitally-focussed campaign, which celebrates the company’s 40th anniversary. The agency will create a series of bespoke Facebook games and competitions throughout the summer to engage and grow the British brand’s social fan base.

The win follows a long-term relationship with parent company Whitbread, and a successful Boss of Beef campaign in 2013.

Taylors Coffee asked Engage to give fans a digital visual experience that replicates the look and feel of its new national TV campaign.

Bubbleology London Tea has commissioned the agency to manage its day-to-day social media channels, including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, along with creating and overseeing its full digital marketing strategy including social e-marketing, digital advertising and content campaigns.
