Plans in for restaurant at business park

PLANS for a new restaurant at Airport West Business Park in Leeds have been submitted to Leeds City Council.

Pub retailer and brewer Greene King, working alongside Airport West (Leeds), part of the Rushbond Group, is proposing to build a Farmhouse Inn at a site adjacent to Leeds Bradford International Airport.

Located on the Airport West Business Park, the restaurant would be a facility for both staff and visitors – enhancing the business park’s offer and helping to attract more businesses to the site.

Business-friendly facilities, such as free WiFi, would be provided.

The currently vacant 0.85 hectare site is owned by Airport West and the planning application is being brought jointly with Greene King and the 1,293 sq m. restaurant would create 75 local retail jobs and more in construction.

As well as serving the business park, the new Farmhouse Inn would be well placed to serve nearby residents in Yeadon, as well as cater for passing trade along the A658, says Greene King.

Peter Hebblethwaite, business unit director for Farmhouse Inns, said: “We are really excited to be bringing forward these plans for a new Farmhouse Inn restaurant. As well as creating new local jobs, the restaurant would provide customers with a greater choice of where to dine and we very much hope that these exciting plans will be warmly welcomed by the community.”

A planning application has been submitted to Leeds City Council by Turley Associates, on behalf of Greene King and Airport West (Leeds) and it is anticipated that this will be determined by September.
