A YORKSHIRE based business, which is part of one of the world’s leading tanneries, has made an acquisition.
Wakefield-based Colomer Munmany, part of Henan Prosper, which supplies companies such as UGG and Burberry, as well as Italian designer brands, has purchased £2.2m turnover Zivana Skins, a Thirsk-based processor of lambskins for the leather industry. It is hoped that the deal will expand Colomer Munmany’s capabilities to handle raw materials in the UK market.
Beaumont Legal, headquartered in Wakefield, handled the contract negotiations, all due diligence and arranged a new three-year lease for Zivana’s existing premises.
Heading up the acquisition deal for Beaumont Legal was the latest addition to its expanding commercial law team, Cordelia King. Returning to the firm to undertake the position of commercial lawyer, King began her career at Beaumont Legal 15 years ago, qualifying as a solicitor with the firm after completing her training. She has now returned to the company and was influential in the success of this deal.
Roy Cusworth, senior partner at Beaumont Legal, said: “2014 has been an extremely strong year for us so far. We were very pleased to complete this key business acquisition for Colomer Munmany and Cordelia’s timely appointment meant that she was able to guide the deal to a fast and successful conclusion.”
