Financial Appointments: SFS appoints new head and more

A round-up of the region’s financial appointments.
MARK Fleet has been appointed as the new managing director of Skipton Financial Services (SFS), the whole of market financial advice subsidiary of Skipton Building Society.
He replaces Simon Holt who left SFS in June after 13 years in charge.
Mr Fleet joins SFS after spending three years as managing director of AWD Moneyextra.
After starting his financial career in sales with HFC Bank in the mid-80s, he moved to Lloyds TSB Asset Finance (formerly Chartered Trust Plc) where he rose swiftly through the ranks during his 12 years holding a variety of senior sales and customer management positions.
He joined Bank of Ireland in 2001, where he was chief operating officer for Chase de Vere and moved to the AWD Group in 2005 following its purchase of both Chase de Vere and Moneyextra. In his spare time, Mark enjoys spending time with his wife and two teenage children, playing golf and watching sport. He is a former professional footballer, having played for Brighton & Hove Albion from 1980 until 1985 when a knee injury forced him to retire.

BARCLAYS Asset & Sales Finance has announced a a trio of appointments for its commercial finance team in Leeds, as it continues to expand at pace.
Johnny Abraham joins the team as associate director, sales, covering Yorkshire and the North East.
Mr Abraham, a chartered accountant previously with Corporate Finance and Recovery at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, has been involved in the Leeds financial community for the last seven years and brings with him a wealth of experience. He is also Chairman of the R3 Yorkshire Young Professionals Network.
Andrew Robbins, also a chartered accountant previously with KPMG, joins the team as relationship manager and his previous role in big ticket asset based lending auditing in both the UK and Europe will benefit the team hugely.
Chris Todd, a former Leeds University economics graduate joins the team as relationship assistant, having previously spent the last two years providing hands on assistance in Barclays Business Support for Barclays clients in turnaround.
