Antiques dealer sells premises

A PREMISES which was purpose-built to house a warehouse and showroom for a Yorkshire antiques dealer and restorer has been sold.
Tomlinson’s Antique’s was founded in Wetherby in 1977 and after a series of moves had a purpose built 50,700 sq ft warehouse and showroom constructed outside Tockwith in North Yorkshire in 1992.
The company has sold the premises to The Textile Warehouse, an online retailer of household goods which is upsizing and expanding from its premises in Swillington.
Real estate adviser DTZ acred on the deal for Tomlinson’s Antiques.
Tomlinson’s Antique’s will continue trading as an online retailer, whilst looking to develop a new site in Wetherby where it is looking to relocate to in the near future.
Paul Mack, associate director at DTZ in Leeds, said: “Tomlinson’s Antique’s is one of the region’s best known and well respected companies in Yorkshire and it was a privilege to act on their behalf.
“Their premises, just outside Tockwith, presented an extremely rare opportunity to acquire the freehold interest of an industrial/warehouse building of such a size in North Yorkshire.
“From the outset we received a staggering amount of interest and we are delighted to have finally completed the sale.”
