Contracts top almost £70m for Yorkshire architecture practice

AN ARCHITECTURE practice in Leeds has won contracts worth almost £68m in the last 12 months.

Brewster Bye, which has recently secured the commission of refurbishments projects in York, Roman House and St Leonards Place, has also secured contracts with residential property developers and housing associations to deliver more than 320 homes.

The architects has also won a contract to design a £10.5m scheme that includes 47 flats, 30 dementia rooms and a day center in Bingley for Abbeyfield Ilkley. Other recent contract wins include the Flaxby Gatehouse Offices in Harrogate for Skelwith Developments and a contract to design 35 contemporary eco lodges, five woodland retreats and 26 traditional holiday cottages on the Raithwaite Estate in Sandsend.

Managing director Keith Brewster said: “These contract wins span several industry sectors and it’s incredibly encouraging to see such renewed levels of development in the region. The housing schemes, for both public and private developers, will help to deliver much needed new homes – some new build and others which will be converted from old hospitals and office buildings. The Flaxby and Raithwaite projects are very high-profile, architecturally pleasing developments that will no doubt become renowned for their unique, appealing design and we are proud to be associated with both of them.”
