Gym reopens following £500k investment

HARROGATE’S Academy Health Club has re-opened its fitness facilities following a £500,000 refurbishment.

The club, located on Oakdale Place, has brought a new, fully “interactive experience and functional training solution” to the town with the installation of new technology, which gives users an interactive interface.

Philippa Shackleton, managing director for The Academy Health Club, said: “We are proud to be the oldest, most established and most experienced club in Harrogate.

“As such we are always looking to improve our offering and this year we have really committed to strengthening and improving on our position as one of the region’s leading health and fitness clubs.”

Yorkshire Bank and its commercial relationship manager Jeremy Bowers helped deliver the refurbishment in just 16 days.

Opened in October 1994, The Academy was the brainchild of Mark Silver.
