In Brief: Coalfields Regeneration Trust; EYG; Duncan Renewables

AN organisation dedicated to supporting coalfields communities is adding £250,000 to its original £1m fund to provide even more help.

Coalfields Community Grants is a fund which is managed by the Coalfields Regeneration Trust, the organisation dedicated to supporting coalfield communities to help themselves.

The grants programme was developed to support community organisations, social enterprises and activities with funding of up to £10,000 per application available. Launched in April of this year, such has been the demand for its grants that the trust has now added an additional £250,000 to help even more communities.

It has already committed £644,506 to provide vital funds that will support projects, initiatives and social enterprises within coalfield communities.

Head of social investment, Andy Lock, said: “What makes Coalfields Community Grants a true success is the organisations that are able to grow and develop as a result of a successful application. Many of these organisations are working with limited funds and providing them with the opportunity to extend their services, develop new programmes and continue to have a positive impact is priceless.”
