Inflation creeps up to 1.3%

THE headline rate of inflation rose slightly in October from 1.2% to 1.3%.
The Office for National Statistics said the rise in the Consumer Prices Index (CPI) was down to smaller falls in transport costs than a year ago, notably for motor fuels and air fares.
The rising price of computer games was also one of the main contributors.
The Retail Prices Index grew by 2.3% in the year ending October 2014, unchanged from September.
The Bank of England’s target is 2%.
