News in brief: Timber expertise rewarded; Eversheds hosts seminar

MORE than 25 employees from Arnold Laver’s Sheffield, Chesterfield, Tyne and Wear, Reading, Bradford, Birmingham and Manchester branches have attended a special presentation at Aston Hotel near Rotherham.

The Arnold Laver Timber Expert Programme involves two Institute of Wood Science (IWSc) courses – the Foundation and Certificate accreditations – helping staff to understand all timber products and services available at Arnold Laver.

The IWSc is a UK professional body for the timber industry helping to create a more in-depth understanding of the technical, practical and general knowledge of timber and wood based materials.

Sonia Wiser, based at Arnold Laver’s National Production and Distribution Centre at Mosborough, Sheffield, earned expert status at the training and was presented with the annual Laver Trophy for her outstanding effort.

As well as the presentation of the IWSc certificates, Bronze, Silver and Gold medals were awarded to the top achieving staff to recognise their individual hard work.
