THE commercial property team at Leeds-based law firm Fox Hayes has acted on behalf of restaurateurs Jonathan Hall and Marcus Bennett, in a joint venture for the acquisition of the lease for The Bay Horse Pub and Restaurant in Hurworth, Darlington.

Mr Hall is the founder of the Hide bar group and Mr Bennett has previously worked at two of the McCoy Brothers’ restaurants; as head chef at the Tontine in Northallerton and as chef proprietor at their Yarm restaurant.

Jessica Hall, a solicitor in the Fox Hayes commercial property team, said: “It is often difficult to negotiate a licence from a landlord for such extensive refurbishments to a listed building. We were particularly pleased to act for Jonathan and Marcus and wish them every success in their new venture.”

AN industrial equipment company is to become the first business to move into the design build section of a new north Derbyshire business park after gaining funding from Yorkshire Bank.

Industrial Ancillaries, which distributes a range of hydraulic, pneumatic, instrumentation and process products, has acquired 33,600 sq ft premises at Markham Vale Business Park, after gaining backing from the Chesterfield team at Yorkshire Bank’s South Yorkshire Financial Solutions Centre (FSC).

The family business, founded in 1969, will move into the multi-million pound purpose-built premises, which will have 30,000 sq ft of warehousing and 3,600 sq ft of two-storey office space in December to mark the start of its 40th anniversary.

Markham Vale is a 200-acre business and industrial park being developed by Henry Boot Developments, part of Sheffield-based Henry Boot, on the site of the former Markham Colliery. It is expected to create 5,000 jobs and attract £130m private investment.

Industrial Ancillaries Ltd, which has been based in Chesterfield since it was founded and is  currently in 7,500 sq ft premises, has 20 staff, a £3m turnover and scores of customers throughout the UK, mainland Europe and internationally, ranging from small end users to large blue-chip companies.

GVA GRIMLEY in Leeds has let Bridge House, a new office development in Wakefield.

Acting on behalf of Leods Contracts, it has been fully let within six weeks of completion. Harvey Smith Kitchens & Bedrooms will occupy the ground floor whilst the first floor has been let to national highway and airfield maintenance contractor, Route One Highways.

Due to recent expansion, Route One Highways has moved into the development, located opposite its depot, to ensure it can meet the demands of current and future business.

NATIONAL design practice P+HS Architects has launched a new brand identity, which the firm’s 25 years in practice.

A review of the business, its identity and its business direction as well as future management succession was carried out last year.

P+HS Architects is responsible for developments including sustainable office development Heworth Green in York, and the showcase Regioanl Agricultural Centre at the Great Yorkshire Showground in Harrogate.
