Knight Frank poaches investment star

THE Yorkshire office of global property giant Knight Frank has poached a new partner for its investment team from BNP Paribas.

Graham Foxton has joined Knight Frank in a move which has been described as one of the “most high-profile in the Leeds property market this year”.

A property source said: “This is a another massive coup for Knight Frank, underlining the firm’s pulling power in Leeds. Graham Foxton is one of the most accomplished investment agents in local market.

“Graham has a superb track record with BNP Paribas, advising on some of the most important investment deals during the past few years. This is a big loss for BNP Paribas and a tremendous gain for Knight Frank. Headed by Henrie Westlake, the most respected investment team in Leeds is now even stronger.”

It is understood that Foxton is now on gardening leave and will join Knight Frank in January.

Foxton’s high-profile move to Knight Frank comes hard on the heels of the arrival of Eamon Fox at Knight Frank from DTZ as partner and head of office agency.

The source said: “These are two heavyweight appointments, clearly aimed at consolidating Knight Frank as the strongest and most talented commercial property agency in Leeds.”

Graham Foxton has advised on a number of acquisitions this year including Leeds Valley Park for £21m and The Interchange, Bradford for £5.7m.  Notable sales include the forward-funding of a Morrisons food store in the North East for Morbaine.

The source added: “Graham has a comprehensive and successful history of providing marketing strategy, development and investment advice to landlords and investors throughout the Yorkshire and Humber region and beyond – and ensuring that deals get over the line.”
