Appointments: Dacre, Son & Hartley, Acorn Brewery, ICW

TWO property professionals at estate agency firm Dacre Son & Hartley have been promoted.

Chris O’Mahony, who heads up the firm’s Pateley Bridge and Ripon offices, has been promoted to senior associate.

Mark Kane who joined Dacres three years ago to manage the Baildon office, has been promoted to an associate.

Ian Darvill of Acorn BreweryIan Darvill has joined the Acorn Brewery as assistant brewer, where he will learn all about the individual recipes and techniques used to create its famous range of beers, including Barnsley Bitter.

Ian has been a home brewer for the past five years and most recently worked for Sematic UK Ltd, a sheet metal fabrication company in Wombwell, making lift doors.

Acorn Brewery owner David Hughes said: “It’s good to have someone with Ian’s expertise and enthusiasm on board.

“He brings a fresh approach to our team and we look forward to his input as we are constantly developing new beers and flavours.”

The brewery now sells to supermarkets Morrisons, Asda, Tesco, Waitrose and Sainsbury’s. Acorn started exporting its real ale to Italy last year and, just last month, attended the UKTI organised ‘Barcelona Food and Drink Exhibition’ to court buyers in Spain.

Mr Hughes said: “Acorn Brewery has grown successfully over the years. We now have 11 staff and our growing team in manufacturing, sales and business administration is really reaping dividends for us as a company.”

The brewery, which has a turnover of £1.2 million, is based on Aldham industrial estate in Wombwell and currently brews around 30,000 pints of real ale per week.

 

David Wilkin of ICW ICW (UK) Ltd have appointed David Wilkin, to assist and advise the company on the implementation of an ambitious growth plan.

A former engineer and sales director David, has joined the Wakefield manufacturing firm vast experience at board level and is an experienced strategist within SMEs in the manufacturing sector, where he has been instrumental in developing and implementing environments to boost company growth in new and existing markets.

Margaret Wood, founder and chairman of ICW (UK) Ltd said: “I have known David for some time and his resume is impressive. I believe with his experience and vision, combined with our desire to grow, ICW (UK) Ltd will reap rewards over the next few years.

“Last year was one of consolidation where we brought new products that have been under development for some time to market successfully.

“We want to build on that and grow the company through new and existing customers. I am sure David can help the team do that and look forward to working alongside him to achieve our company goals.”
