Japanese engineering firm invests in R&D build

ROTHERHAM’S Advanced Manufacturing Park will see a £1.8m research and development facility built for Japanese precision engineering firm Nikken Kosakusho Europe Ltd, after Esh Build was appointed to the project.

The site which represents part of a £3.6m investment will serve as the Nikken Kosakusho European research, development and training centre.

The development will also house a training centre, offices and CNC development area.

The project is set to complete by July 2015 and will create up to 10 new jobs.

The Nikken Kosakusho also has a European presence with offices in France, Germany, Switzerland, Turkey and Sweden.

Nikken also has a network of partners and dealers in other European countries who promote and sell Nikken’s outstanding range of NC Tooling and CNC Rotary Table solutions.

Durham-based construction and building services firm, Esh Group, has shown strong growth in Yorkshire with revenue rising 29% to £58.6m, overall group revenues reached £270m across the North in 2014.

Esh recently completion of several major projects including The Tetley, a new art gallery in Leeds, and the construction of a new seawall in Bridlington.

Bond Bryan Architects and Hobson Hague Consultancy and Evolve 2 Consult are consultants on the project.
